PM_TEN (Physical Methods and Technologies for Environmental Needs) is an innovative SME, born as a spin-off of the environmental research activities conducted in more than twenty years in the Physics Department of the University of Genoa. The members are three young researchers and two university professors. The company has been operating on the market for several years, starting from the beginning of 2013, but its members can boast a long and significant experience in the field.
The company targets primarily public bodies that have, at various levels, to deal with environmental protection and are responsible, through their technical bodies, to control the quality of the environment, and private entities, in particular service companies and factory plants which require, for their activities, environmental impact studies and / or assessment of meteorological parameters, small and medium enterprises active in the production and characterization of materials.
Accreditation as a university spin-off attests to the level of competence and quality of the services offered by the company, which has access, within the framework of an agreement signed with the Physics Department of the University of Genoa, to the research laboratories of environmental physics and to the sophisticated instrumentation with which they are equipped. These experiences can be usefully put to good use in a project such as SINDBAD in which the meteorological data plays a decisive role, ensuring the generation of a consistent and reliable flow of meteo-marine data, using in an integrated way all available sources.
